25th Sunspot Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This raised its mane out of the throng of 40+ wines jockeying for position and demanded respect. Intense fruit dressed in a silk robe. Black currant and pipe tobacco linger through an extended powerful finish. Much obliged @Mark Turner

Passover wine-me thinks a few tics past it’s prime, with the mid palate shallow, though a gorgeous nose, the oak burnished. It’s elegant black cassis but faded. Magnum. Double decanted.

Wow. That about sums it up. Good for another 15 years at least. Fun group to share it with tonight. Thanks wine geeks!

24 barrels, en magnum what a wonderful tribute to John Shafer. Beautiful balance. Fruit still showing strong.

Amazing blue and black fruit, rounded tannins with a 60 second finish. This magnum was decanted for an hour and continues to get better with air.

Loved this wine. Sure wish we had another bottle.

2001 vintage. Only bottled in magnum format.
