Sextant Wines
Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark Ruby aromas of dark red fruits with pronounced earthy herb spices. The palate shows blackberry with pungent oaky tomato leaf herb spice. Tannins are biting that stick, leaving a medium(-) finish ending with odd/off spicy character. In a word “awful.” Tasting Sample.

Apr 13th, 2020Good value at 16 but not so much at 24. Cherry dominated with earth and cedar. Wifey did not enjoy as much so this is a pass for us.

Feb 16th, 2020Light ruby hue with high saturation. Aromas and flavors of cassis, cherry, chocolate, oak, plum, smoke, strawberry, and vanilla. Full-bodied, with heavy tannins and medium acidity. Bold and beautiful on the palate, with a deep, lingering finish.

Dec 9th, 2019Consumed 01/2019. After I let it breathe about 12 hours it was drinkable. The name references an old world instrument that used the sun, stars and horizon to navigate across open water. There is no description of the wine on the bottle. I tried it solely because of the name and me liking the sun and water so much. Sometimes when I do that it is a hit and sometimes it is a miss.
