Interesting southern Italian varietal; grown in a warm maritime climate in McLaren Vale not dissimilar to its native Campania; pale, lemon fruit, though chewy which accelerates acceptance when eating. Many Sicilian white varietals are cold macerated, coming up with bright yellow colours, the taste though supports their robust Arab-influenced seafood diets. 12.5 alcohol is important, higher is wasteful. And this italian family use the Italian back label system of only putting the vintage on the back! It's 2013.

We were heading for pizza at Louie's Pizza & Grill in Guildford. Being A BYO spot we of course had to make a quick stop into the Guildford Cellarbrations where I spotted this Serafino Fiano from McLaren Vale (South Australia) for $22. I remember trying a previous vintage at Festival Italia last year and enjoying it.

FYI: It was a very tasty accompaniment to our 4 Cheese Pizza 🧀 🍕

Crystal clear with a yellow green shade on the eye. The nose is like a whiff of fresh air with a hint apple. In the mouth it's light but with decent acidity that balanced the very cheesy pizza out well. Please note this tasting note was done with a glass tumbler - it's the Italian way 🇮🇹

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine

One dimensional. Lemon oil and citrus aromas. Short finish. Harsh acid.
