Selbach-Oster
Mosel Feinherb Riesling
Light golden in color.
Strong nose of petrol, lemons, citrus, tropical fruits, peaches, bananas, white flowers, pineapples, minerals, sea salt and white pepper.
Medium bodied with high acidity, crisp and refreshing.
Off-dry on the palette with citrus, lemons, honey, red apples, melons, tropical fruits, pears, spices and black pepper.
Long finish with a tangy lemon juice feel.
This is a nice Riesling from Mosel. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with vegetarian stuffed grape leaves.
11% alcohol by volume.
$20.

Pale nearly colorless. Seems really youthful with some CO2 and a zippy/fresh/slightly reductive aroma. This has legs and will age. But approachable now.

Aug 30th, 2016Pale yellow/green. Aromas of lime leaf, damp slate, pungent green herbs (mint, thyme, etc.). Not quite bone dry, but just enough sweetness to keep things balanced. Spot on with pork tenderloin, apple/celery salad and curried red lentils.

Aug 21st, 2014A really average vintage in the Mosel. Sip with pleasure, forget the thoughts.

Feb 11th, 2017Aromas of lime and faint herbs. Delicious, slightly viscous on palate. Bergamot orange, kiwi, that bitter melon from Southeast Asia, papaya, long finish. This is Vg after being slightly reductive upon opening. Moderate sweetness balanced by a jolt of acidity.
