Dark garnet amethyst in the glass. Full nose of raisiny red fruit. Juicy cranberry wrapped in vanilla leather. Fine medium plus tannins, medium acidity. Remarkably close to Amarone in feel, which is kinda the idea. Food is definitely its friend, but not a bad sipper if you like 'em big-boned.

Cherubs on the label. Fancy stuff? Dark and rusty color. Smells of stewed fruit (plum-cherry) and balsamic with just a bit of V.A. It’s strange and unique flavored. Dried cherry, apples, and smokey bar b que come to mind. Complex. Plenty bitter. Funky. This is a nice Ripasso and it aged well. Might even keep going fine...

2015 opened Sept 2019. Citrus and olives on the nose. Light fruit on the front (red raspberries?), but the fruit intensifies on the mid palate with ripe cherries. Not much tannic structure, but this wine has crisp finish like a Sauvignon blanc. I like this wine. Very drinkable, but it’s not in any way challenging.

After a long day of changing diapers this wine really hits the spot. Now I am conditioned like Pavlov's dog to think of poop everytime I smell it. Fantastic!

Balanced fruit. Good as a casual drinker or with chicken, pasta.
