This is the 2001 Shug “Heritage Reserve“ Carneros Merlot which apparently has around 6% cab in it. There is just enough fruit left to pair it with my attempt at Persian beef kebabs (Kubideh) which I hope will make my father-in-law proud.

Typical merlot. 94% merlot, 6% CS. Silky texture.

Great merlot. Black licorice/anise, cherries with a hint of olive. Palate was all fruit, mid palate was slightly thin but the finish was a medium - medium plus. Cheers.

This is great example of what Carneros merlot can be. But personally, I'm just not into it. $34.
