Rich, ripe and full throttle. I’m describing @Kimberly Anderson but the scarecrow was all of that and in a phenomenal place. Lots of power and ample grace here. A special wine. I lobbied Kim for a BBB style cleavage pic and Chad was down for it, but she demurred....and it was 18 degrees outside so I get it.

No shocker - this was the wine of the day. So much content it stained the glass! Rich, ripe, cassis, vanilla creme brûlée, textural old vine fruits, layers of oak, toast, and ample tannin to balance and evoke bewilderment and praise! 99 points - one of the best Scarecrow efforts I have witnessed...a stunning wine 1st place Winner vs Nobel Bordeaux competitor in France vs California by learnaboutwine.com 5.25.14 #delectable #wine

Dark violet hues. An incredibly lush and silky wine, rich pure dark fruits, floral notes and sweet bruised fig. The balance sets it apart. Everything has its place.

Expressive bouquet of spring flowers, cherry galette & vanilla notes. Pure vibrant red fruits, perfect acid/tannin balance - long finish. Drinking awesome now & will age for many years to come.

Wasn't thrilled with the vegetal aromas but the black and blue fruits and dusty flavors redeem this wine. Not at all like the last Scarecrow I tasted.

I felt the wine was a little too ripe almost pruned, but the group loved it. Maybe best on its own, not in a comparative. Too fat for me.
