Lithe structure through the lens of supple Cali fruit. A certain favorite for sub-$30 Cali Pinot

A bright cherry red color with thin edges. A ridiculous nose consisting of dry earth, red fruits, baking spices, and rose petal. The light funk is subtle enough to not offend those who could be but prevalent enough for the rest of us. I could smell this thing for hours. It’s perfect.

Easily one of the best producers of Pinot Noir in California, don’t go in expecting the usual supermarket fare. It is not a high octane full throttle wine. It’s not a Pinot that could double as a Syrah. Amazingly light, this could use a light chill. Mild tannins and silky on the tongue.

Prominent strawberry and cherry on the palate initially. There is a vegetal tinge here but it’s not too pronounced. A little pepper, a little smoke. Some wonderful minerality here too. This is a great Pinot and I believe it’s their entry offering. Get some while you can.
