From 200-400 year old assyrtiko ( probably the oldest vines of the world). This is a gift from “The Greek.” No barrel. One of the top white wines in Greece. Like a great grand cru Chablis. But with a twist. Nose is mineral and flinty, waxey, tree bark, lemon oil while the palate is mineral like a great Chablis but also has a Chenin/Savennieres vibe. Really costs the palate and has wonderful sweet Meyer lemon fruit and fascinating texture. Long, nimble and elegant. Structured and deep. Lovely freshness and acid. Really long.
This has GREATLY improved over night now and is firmly a 9.5 with world class elegance, power and depth. So mineral and long. Like if Chassagne 1er cru was made with Assyrtiko. Really great wine.
