On the nose, violets, lavender, mint/eucalyptus, ruby dark fruits; blackberries, black plum, plum, huckleberry, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, dark, rich, moist soils, cinnamon, vanilla, tobacco and soft leather.

Tannins are thick, round & velvety. The body is rich, round, ruby, ripe; blackberries, black plum, plum, black raspberries, huckleberry, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, dark, rich, moist soils, cinnamon, vanilla, mint/eucalyptus, dry soils, powdery dark minerals, dry river stone, tobacco and soft leather. The acidity is a little low but ok. The finish is round, balanced, polished, but falls a little short.

It's hard to know what to do with this. It's good but I expected more. It's essentially 2:1 cab franc:sauvignon with a splash of carmenere. The nose is muted, and what's there is more cabernet sauvignon than cabernet franc. Medium mouth feel. There are no vegetal notes sometimes present with cab franc, but curiously the finish was the most memorable and prominent. It took me most of the bottle to place it, but there is a distinct, lingering aftertaste reminiscent of yellow grapefruit pith. Certainly not bad, better with a good meal, but could have been better.

Majority Cab Franc with Cab Sav and Carmenere. Luscious with tons of cherry 🍒 fruit and a nice expression of the terroir of the region.

When you look at a wine you have a list of things that can make it great/horrible or something in between. On the scale, this wine delivers in mouth feel, fruit, nose, and it is bold. Sorry if you don't understand the franc and the carm. Great wine
