Sandbanks Winery
Ontario VQA Reserve Baco Noir
Surprisingly good. Maybe even the best product out of this winery. A big jammy and fruity but not over the top sweet. Still can't get over the fact that they're so commercial and import their grapes from Niagara to make their wines though, really takes away from the experience.

Бако нуар. Богатый тон черных ягод, глубокий марганцовочный цвет, перец, дым, немного животины. Умеренная кислотность, сладковатый ягодный вкус, деликатная кислотность, очень деликатные танины

Jul 29th, 2016Wonderful nose on this one. Some deep red fruit smells. First sip was quite wonderful too. Body is quite nice. Well balanced with the fruits. Has a mild sweetness. Not too dry. Had a beautiful color to it.

Apr 24th, 2020Very nice fruit and oak spices, dark berries and a hint of tobacco. Lacking more complexity and body, but very drinkable and enjoyable!

Aug 17th, 2019Typical of Ontario wines - young fruit with obvious additives to increase alcohol content. Opens up after sitting for a while. Notes of blackberries and strawberries, slight acidity. Baco Noir is slightly unusual after the vine pull of the 1980's, making it a bit more interesting just on that basis.

Dec 26th, 2015Slightly better than the non-reserve. More of a blackberry note, compared to the cherry of the non-reserve.
