Interesting history (as most wines have) this wine from Malleco Valley in Chile is the result of a collaboration between producer Viña San Pedro and the Mapuche (“people of the land”) indigenous community called Buchahueico. This Tayu wine (meaning “ours”) is clear, bright, and light in color; nose is from a summer forest with subtle oak notes and ripe raspberries and strawberries, cinnamon and mint; light low-tannin slightly jammy, medium acids, and low alcohol (12.5%). Nice sipping wine without food, but paired well with an artichoke oven-baked dip.
