From the 2018 vintage entirely. Fraser seems to do less blended vintages these days - perhaps in this case because 2018 was very good and bountiful. Red fruited and muscular, vital and fresh, and in perfect balance. In oak for 78 weeks. A plummy palate finishing with savoury charry and always silky fine grained tannins. This is my first of 3 bottles in the cellar. Wonderful wine from ancient vines some of which date back to 1888.

Tight, strict and dark upon opening. Took about an hour or so to get somewhat approachable.
Pitchblack, purple hue.
Black cherries, brambles, black olives, charcoal, ink, ground coffee, black pepper and pencil lead. Lots of soft and ripe tannines, medium acidity, mineral notes throughout the wine.
This is young, complex and restrained, but most of all: delicious!

Gotta try them young! Took a little air to coax it out of its shell, but given 48 hrs it was simply incredible. Velvet mouthfeel a highlight, with ripe fine tannin pulsing through the long finish. Bouquet more subtle than the Little Wine, but still complex & alluring. Highly drinkable. Fantastic wine with a great future ahead of it. Next bottle in 5-8 yrs.
