Color is dark garnet fading to ruby. On the nose you get plush plum, wet minerals, decomposed hay, menthol and black cherries. Upon sipping you are immersed in cranberries and very grippy tannins, like a fine grit of sandpaper. The next sip it starts to reveal a bit of unripe strawberries, pomegranate and red currants. There is definitely a bit of mushroom on the finish but more prominent is the spice. Very racy wine that has a ton of tannins, one wonders if it needs a bit of time to learn to mellow out.
