Yes, we went to the Salt Lick Cellars to satisfy my curiosity after our delicious feast of slow-cooked meat. They're growing Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre varietals. Zinfandel can also be found growing in the hill country. The nose on this blend brought me back to the smells of the East Texas Summers in the Piney Woods where I spent time as a child. The limestone, rocky, red clay and sulfuric elements were present in these wines and truly make them something special. Uncomplicated, simple finish they pair well with that slow-smoked, Texas meat! Yum!

Wine tasting in Texas. Never thought those words would come out of my mouth. (I have a 45 minute wait for food!)

Nice Texas table wine. Good berries. A bit short on the finish but nice overall
