Medium ruby color with a bright red rim. More intriguing nose than I expected with lively red fruit up front and savory and nice floral notes following. Rich, but not overly dense, this is could have easily gone down the same path so many other Bordeaux type blends fall into. Overblown, homogeneous, boring as all hell. That’s deftly sidestepped here with beautiful acid and fine structure. Black cherries, stewed plums, mushrooms, and cigar smoke on the palate with a bit of orange peel coming in later. I wonder how this can age but that doesn’t matter right now, just enjoy it.

Needs to breathe, but when it's ready, super light and flavorful. Cherry and oak undertones.

Lucked out grabbing the last bottle at our local store. Cab based blend with Merlot, Zin and Petite Sirah to round it out. Notes of stone fruits, blueberry, tobacco, five spice, black pepper linger well after your first sip. Ready to get my hands on more of their wines. Saddle up.
