Il Rosso Alfio Moriconi Selection Toscana Sangiovese

Bright ruby. Inviting nose of black cherry and patent leather. Echoed on the medium-bodied palate adding red apple and cranberry wrapped in medium plus acidity and medium tannins. A masterful Sangiovese wielding great QPR at ten dollars. Priced for pizza, but built for sturdier stuff. Tomato based Italian fare is its natural friend. Drink now through 2022.

Excellent, smooth finish

A nice, well structured Sangiovese to accompany a good red sauce meal - crisp on the nose, mature red fruit throughout with a good slightly leathery and muted spice finish. Keep this one flowing!

Too herby and tanic for my taste

Super light. Fruit heavy. $8 pizza wine. Not bad.

Almost sour; got a bite to it that veers on unpleasant but I like the way it finishes.
