A pretty color of dark ruby with a short reddish rim.

Earthy nose of blueberries, black currants, bell pepper, green vegetables, wet leaves, earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco leaf, licorice, leather, graphite, dark coffee and herbs.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, blackberries, coffee, earth, vegetables, graphite, spices, bitter herbs, black tea, oak, licorice, light vanilla, cloves, tobacco, pencil lead and black pepper.

Medium on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice surprise. A great South African red blend. Still young, but already enjoyable even by itself. A good food wine too.

Showing lots of earthy notes and vegetables with black fruits, great complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Feels very much like an old world wine with a teeth staining color. I loved smelling on it for a long time.

Needs 3 years in the bottle to mature properly and remove the vegetable notes.

Needed a couple of hours to open up properly, and I used the Vspin for 20 minutes.

Thank you David for sharing this delicious wine with me.

A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Shiraz and 7% Merlot. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

14.5 % alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50.

A Stellenbosch red blend with classic notes of typical terroir from this area of the Cape Winelands. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot make up the blend.

Raclette night. Closed out the night with this decanted beauty. Plum and prune nose with cedar box and some forest floor notes. Still a lot of fruit and life, integrated soft tanins and great acid.
