This Sangiovese is pretty decent for the price point. A fair amount of berry notes on the nose. Dark cherries, cherry pits and skin, acid and astringency are detectable on the nose. The palate confirms the cherries but in a tart underripe way. Also getting strawberry and raspberry notes on the finish. Theres iron flavors and metallic things going on with the palate, not to mention barnyard and turned earth with some potting soil smells. For the 15ish bucks this is a complex Sangiovese.

Lovely deep translucent ruby hue, with a decidedly maroon cast--nearly brown at the edges. Mushroom, rich earth, and some honeysuckle on the nose. Bright, acidic, but otherwise disappointingly neutral taste. Some might take to it as "clean," but it strikes me as approaching insipid.
