Dec 21st, 2018Another special gem from Oakville. Rudd produces some stellar wines and this Samantha is a shining example of a Cab that is coming into its own. Still would improve on the shelf for another 10+ years.

Another 4th Friday for the books. What a much needed time out of the house and to be with friends after this past week.
Every aspect of this wine is Oakville. Nose and palate were identical...a powerful blackberry mid-palate note, graphite/lead, floral and herbal, overload of plums. These wines give Gargiulo and other Oakville Cabs a lesson in sheer power. Tannic structure for days, but it doesn’t bite like mountain AVAs. It’s soft, plush, and accentuates the fruit at this young age.

Excellent wine. Incredibly easy to drink and balanced. Not too many tannins. Just perfect. I can’t wait to visit this winery in person one day.
