In honor of Leslie Rudd and all he created and stood for - Rest In Peace you gentle giant and unassuming hero of Napa, winemaking at the highest level and helping to make us wine lovers so happy when we taste bottles like this - an innovator and developer of remarkable things you left behind like a great family a beautiful winery devoted to nurturing the land and my favorite Napa restaurant PRESS and the whole bacon experience (try it if you can but not in menu so have to ask) - this is still great and maybe showing a little less time left from last year giving me thought this wine should be enjoyed in the next two to three years - WS gave it 94, WE a 96 and RP a 95 and I split hair in my rating and agree and this is same as a year ago and this is old Napa style with a flair toward a Bordeaux fashion

Decanted for about 2 hours. Very inky dark purple color. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose along with a bit of charred oak, campfire and dark chocolate. Very nice nose. Ripe, dark fruit flavors explode from the palate with crème de cassis and blackberry jam along with a little bitter cocoa and oak and vanilla. Tannins definitely still present and chewy. Good acidity with great structure and complexity- a truly big bold and beautiful wine - all smiles and bravo Mr. Rudd in life well lived and peace to your family

Cabs by Rudd is all about the three B's - big bold an beautiful and when drinking you got to smile!

This wine is all about complex structures, smooth power and wearing sunglasses at night cool.

A deep rich red wine which is endowed with serious depth. Depth in color and taste - the formidable structure calls out smells of blueberries, black berry fruits, graphite and licorice - decanted for 2 hours and this bad boy of a wine is singing - the finish is incredibly tense and tight but man it is singing and shining bright as a full moon.

This is old school Napa cab good - all smiles!!!!

What Napa may lack compared to Bordeaux it crushes it with consistency and fruit purity. This is pure deliciousness. Black cherry, plum and especially cassis fan out over the palate, deep tobacco and muddled cherries take hold on the finish.

Tie for WOTN! Beautiful nose, deep finish and probably WOTN if decanted vs the La Jota 1999. This was one of the best expressions of Oakville fruit I have had in a long time.

Magnum for NYE dinner. Great depth and concentration. Still quite youthful. Cherry profile, superb balance and long finish. Held its own against Pahlmeyer and Forman reds.

Wonderful wine. Ready to drink now. Very soft yet tannins still present. Strong luscious overtones of vanilla with hints of leather and Virginia tobacco. Long beautiful finish.

A delight. Lingering samplings of crushed, dry violets, old rubber door mat (not in a bad way, in an older cabernet kind of way), blackberry and chocolate. New french oak. Great cab dominant blend.
