Couldn’t believe my luck when someone walked in with this. I recently made the list and purchased some current release as well as an older vintage all without ever trying these wines. People speak highly so I’m glad I got to see why. This is mainly Beckstoffer GIII I believe (though it’s now mainly Moulds, Farella and Houyi) and it had some hallmark BGIII notes...dusty blackberries and raspberries. Rose petal, graham cracker and lead. Nice!

93-95 points. There rusticity here, unlike other vintages. Not a bad thing, just different. Tannins are not as refined as 14 nor 15. Will be interesting to see its ageing curve.

Roy nailed this vintage and while still sooo young, its balance and grace is truly impressive. Sweet red berries, dark plums and black cherries jumps from the glass and are complimented on the palate by wonderfully handled tannins and juicy acidity. Will age gracefully.

Brilliant effort. Magical for an off vintage that shouldn't be considered an off vintage. Blew away the EMH black cat from the day before. If you aren't on Roy's list, epic mistake. Great mouthfeel. Awesome finish
