Roy Estate
Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
#AgedWineTuesday
What a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley this is.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Showing black fruits with cedar, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, chocolates, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, coffee, cola and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins.
Fabulous right out of the bottle, and much better after some airtime.
This 15 year old Magnum is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
Rich and elegant. Fruit forward and well balanced.
A great wine from the great 2007 vintage. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel. A gorgeous wine.
Robert Parker 94 points.
Thank you Barry for sharing.
A great sipping wine, and good by itself or with food.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in French oak barrels (100% new) for 26 months. Unfiltered and unfined. A small production of only 350 cases.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
96 points.
$550 Magnum (current vintage).

Great friends and wine equal fun times
Last night this was good but not enough compared to others on the table - maybe because it was a 2011 but lately my 2011 have been getting better so surprised it lacked the power to stay up

Still so supportive of Roy after the fires. The 2010 is still beautiful, balanced and with low tannins

Feb 16th, 2018This was the WOTN. Tough battle, but wow. The balance of this wine, accompanied by the absolute perfect pairing of mixed dark fruits, slight earthy taste and dark floral notes, made this unforgettable. This was my first experience with Roy Estate, and it was like a first kiss...it will never be forgotten!

Oct 12th, 2016Great wine - really becoming fan of Roy estate - 2nd bottle from first vintage purchased - everyone has to love something - for me - easy going laughter makes me smiles as well great wine - I feel this wine as much as I enjoy this wine - my notes are going to hard to sum at the end - beautiful color to start in the decanter - been two hours - taste is very expressive - smell is full of red fruit mainly ripe cherries and wild berries and a deep floral scent with rich complex oak that implodes in your mouth as you sip - a very complex structured but smooth and refined taste in my palette - just a striking unique wine - love the balance of refined tannins and intense structure I get when drinking - so I will smile now, smile later and when I go to sleep tonight I will be SMILING!!!!!

Aug 30th, 2016David's the man for sharing this.. Dark, brooding, but with fully resolved tannins.. Some petrol on the nose and dark dense fruit on the palate. I love Roy

Aug 30th, 2015Nailed it. A super Cabernet with a finessed style. Not overbearing and a nice long finish. Very round. Melka knows what he's doing.
