Second blind red for my father’s 53rd birthday. We tried four 2014s, two were Cabernet Sauvignons and two were Bordeaux Blends.

Deep ruby red. Red plums on the nose with some minerality and spices. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Lots of acidity and red fruits. A little gritty, good spices and minerality. Long finish drink till 2027.

Opening this to enjoy with the traditional Christmas Day Italian Brijole, Sicilian, family recipe. It doesn't compare to the traditional Super Tuscans but it stands on its own and commands it's place with this Italian meal.

Deep inky purple color in the glass. Flashing, fresh flowers and cut cedar on the nose. Mid palate has hints of candied cherries, smashed black and red fruits and a touch of licorice. Big powerful finish great balance of acidity and tannins.

Part of my wine club shipment. Opened and let breath for about 3 1/2 hours. Absolutely wonderful! Hints of cedar, big and intense on the nose. Bold yet elegant with a long finish.

Strong and still accessible. This aged really nicely already with a nose of vanilla, blackberry and white pepper.

This was excellent and had both a spicy set of flavors, white pepper, bell pepper and hints of barn floor, as well as a nice fruit set of flavors in boysenberry, and black cherry. Beautiful deep red and violet colors. Definitely seems like it could also benefit from more years in bottle.
