What a treat after 17 years in my locker.....

BIG. Campfire and dry tobacco leaf, blackberry, black licorice and dark chocolate bar. Dry volcanic finish.

Big rich full bodied wine! Wow after 14 years it still needs more time. If you like deep dark fully extracted fruit that possesses chocolate, plum, blackberry flavors like I do, then this is your wine. This Zin is moderately jammy with restrained plum and blackberry flavors.

Jammy on the nose. Big fruit forward on the palate, mild peppery plum and blackberry flavors. Medium bodied and mild tannins. Slight lingering finish.

A wonderful wine. Big to medium fruit on the front end with a mellow light tannin finish. Mildly dry. Velvety and vanilla flavored with a hint of burnt cherry.

Oak prominent in this vintage. Cloves, dill, vanilla, cedar on Mix of black fruit jam.

Too over the top pour moi. Over extracted/over oaked. Loved the '03 but this is from a different planet.

Enticing savory aromas of tobacco, cedar, baked and dried fruits. Slight hint of tea. Red and black fruits in the mouth, with a bit of sweetness. The 15.9% abv hides but not completely. So so finish, but surprising structure.

A wonderful zin. Strong fig, tootsie rolls.
