This AOC Chablis is better than a large proportion of Premier Crus I’ve had. Just a textbook nose of Kimmeridgian limestone stank, together with bright citrus peel / green apple fruit. Intensely flavored, with bright acids. Lots of citrus peel fruit with a nicely bitter edge in the finish and tons of limestony minerals. Really nice.

The 2022 Chablis Vauprin has another impressive nose: taut and delineated. The mineralité of a Premier Cru with a clever reduction suggests some astute winemaking. The palate is nicely balanced, with a citrus-fresh entry, lively and animated, and a bright and vibrant finish. This is irresistible. Chapeau! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. @Neal Martin is, as usual, spot on with his note, but I prefer the VV bottling.
