Prestige Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

What I didn’t realize until this week is when I bought this 2013, Sofia & I tasted this with Roger in his cellar before it received the label shown in this post in 2015.

This was $25 on release and it is beautiful tonight as it was last weekend.

Ripe, juicy; blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, purple fruits, blueberries & some dark cherries. Grilled meats, light black pepper, dry galet stones, spice, dry top soil, dry tobacco, used leather, slightly moist volcanic mineral mixed w/ clay, sandalwood, dry & withering dark, red & purple florals, rainfall acidity, a well balanced, nicely structured, beautifully tensioned, balanced, elegant finish that last two-minutes and lands on minerality and florals.

Deep and ripe fruit. Plums, dark cherry, mocha. Rounded ripe and approachable. Nice, but lacks anything to make it distinct.

A nose full of earthy old leather, dried herbs, and stewed plums. Nice lingering finish on a lower end CDP.

Pruney and very ripe, framed by oak and sweet tannins. Feels "worked". Drink now.

This bottle was pulled from the Domaine's cellar. It's benefited from perfect storage and basically having never been moved. The wine is in a perfect place. Still so fresh. Ripe blueberries, boysenberries, black raspberries, plum, sweet spice, black pepper, gentle herbs, dry stones and velvety leather. Beautiful juicy fruit, round & lush with an elegant finish that lasts over a minute. Big thanks to the Winemaker Didier for the bottle.

Tasted from large oak tank.

Ripe, kirsch aromas, Provençal herbs, roasted meat. Savory wine, no edges, seductive stuff.

06 - tons of dark fruit & dark earth - has many years to go!

This has become really good. Really in prime time.

Showing lots of dark fruit, earth and minerality. Still a baby, but fresh is ok by me tonight!
