Nov 2nd, 2017Another nice treat tonight in Maui. Old California Pinots are not easy to find in the lower 48 yet alone in Hawaii. We visited the Clos Pepe vineyard in The Santa Rita Hills in 2014 and fell in love with the grapes they grow. Lots of red fruit and a slight hint of Cola on the nose. Bright cherries, Dr. Pepper and some cinnamon on the palate. Very balanced with a great acidic backbone and some refined tannins. Another hidden gem we managed to find tonight in Maui!
