Roederer Estate
L'Ermitage Brut Anderson Valley Chardonnay Pinot Noir
Nose has crusty baked apple, toasted oats, fresh brioche, creamed butter, washed lemon and day old popcorn.
Palate has freshly baked bread, lemon zest, juiced lemon, chopped hazelnut (roasted), faint vanilla, (minor) dried blackcurrant with light saline minerality on the medium finish.
A good bottle, but consistent with all our prior 2007's, slightly underwhelming in comparison to shoulder vintages. Plenty of life in this to easily see a 20th birthday. ~$38

A few of us stopped by the wine storage facility today to “celebrate” the 4th in style...wine style. American zins and American Sparklers. Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Wow! Happily pleased and fairly surprised by this. This was my contribution. Had an ‘06 last year which was tasting really great but this ‘07 was a level above. Next to Ultramarine and the Reserve Schramsberg Sparklers, this is one of the best domestic Sparklers I’ve had, especially at the price ($50). Nose was grilled honeycomb, baked yeast and a small bit of limestone. Extremely creamy on the front palate...bubbles were so incredibly tiny. Multiple bubble strings. Wonderful lemon bread palate, with a crisp, chalky finish highlighted by grilled pineapple. This is an excellent US version of champagne.

Jul 7th, 2016Pale golden color with enticing brioche, roast hazelnut, lemon peel, baked apple and ginger aromas with plenty of tiny bubbles. On the palate it's broad, very creamy and well balanced with apple, lemon and kiss of raspberry flavors. Long satisfying finish. 52% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir - 4% aged reserve wine, vintage 2004 and 2005 12.5% abv 2007 Vintage

Jul 5th, 2016Wow! Amazing sparkler from Roederer. Baked apple pie, bread crust, vanilla, and lots of nuttiness... roasted hazelnuts maybe? The bubbles are small and acidity is incredible, paired with a long creamy finish that lingers and lingers. Sur Lie aging...More than worth the money.
