A bit clunky, too jammy, overripe plum flavours. Structure not quite there to contain it. Haven't drunk anything other than 2002 at this point, but don't think I'll be looking for more.

Notes of prune, chocolate and a touch of liquorice. Deep ripe fruit flavours. From a good Barossa vintage, at 13 years of age at its peak which I expect to be maintained for some time. An icon of the Barossa. Excellent wine.

The legend but not a great vintage so I read. Had been lovingly cellared since purchase and had plenty of life in it. Rich and ripe black fruits, big with subtle velvety tannin. Only BP I've tasted.

NYE 2018. Slight bitter but nose of chalky powder and slight mineral. There are good fruits but slightly bitter finish. Some herbecous

Holy smokes. This is the best of Australian Barossa valley wine. This Shiraz was gifted to me 13 years ago by a good friend, Ron Candy - a gentleman of gentleman. A true Ozzie with a heart of gold. It was on this date too, while I was living in Sydney, 13 years ago that I lost my friend, my golf buddy, my business partner and father-in-law Herb Schimeneck to the wicked complications and consequences of cancer. If you’re drinking tonight, and so moved, raise a glass to Ron, and especially to Herb - two great men that helped me became a better version of myself than I could have imagined or hoped for. Cheers to you all.....my friends today and of tomorrow.
