Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Ali vs Frazier 1, I decided to open the “Ali” and see how it compared to the ‘98 Grange (Frazier) that I drank last month. True to form this bottle “floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee.” Delivered all the power of the Grange with much more finesse. Both wines are true champions but similar to the “Fight of the Century” a slight edge to Grange (Frazier).

Only got a sip of this one - it disappeared rather quickly. It has become a cult wine in Australia and priced accordingly. Made from grapes sourced from old dry grown vineyards aged from 60 to 140 years old. It is always lush silky and moreish. Fruit and nut milk chocolate. Seamless. Hard not to like it.

Second only to the 1990 which I can't review here, but truly in great shape
Absolute elegance with intensity and balance
It takes only 28 years to get such a grace from an OZ wine... Only kidding of course
