Rocca di Castagnoli
Buriano Cabernet Sauvignon
Minty again. As in ‘13. Deep cassis nose, deceptively rich, the body is much more lifted and bright than the nose would initially lead you to. Minerality but soft. It screams Tuscany. That ineffable quality of underbrush and cedar mixed with blue/black fruits. Of course, I could be imposing this. So much nicer( for us) than most Cali cabs in terms of lightness/acidity. A nice partner w food. Second time w this wine, and I will say that that their use of wood, both piccoli and grande, is deft. There’s weight, but w/o obscuring the fruit or feel.
Thanks@ Garagiste

Such pure dark berry fruit, concentrated almost black berry fruit snacks. A little toast, clove, and black tea. Rustic edges. Luscious currant and berry fruit fill the mouth. Softening tannin. Stands up well to steak. Solid length. From Tuscany. Outstanding QPR.
