Nice sangiovese. Aged 24 months in french oak. Just the right touch of brett on the nose to add character, without compromising the plate. Herbaceous, with a touch of fruit and almond on the nose, too. Flavors are balanced on the palate. Mouthfeel is a touch off, but it's very enjoyable. Will try to find more of this wine. Worth 28 bucks? Not so sure; won't be buying a case, just a couple.

Really bright red cherry and nuttiness on the nose. Pretty, pretty garnet in the glass. A bit stiff at first, but it gets more and more inviting over time. I'll just refrain from making an analogy there. Medium bodied and dry. Chocolate, spice, and herbs. Spicy finish but not quite long enough. Nothing complicated here, just some good ol Italian.
