This wine has certainly had better vintages. For its price point it’s a touch angular with green vegetal notes. Also appears to me that the oak is out of balance and obtrusive. I usually like this bottling better. Hopefully upward next year.

Sipping Fine Wine

Golden straw with aromas of stone and tropical fruits. On the palate apple, peach and pear with lemon zest and gentle toasty oak. Crisp, good balance, medium finish with smooth ending.  The Mondavi Chardonnay is produced with consistent good quality and the 2014 is no exception. Great value.

Oak seems a bit heavy compared to the fruit.
