Show stealer. '82 out of mag. Fruit was subdued and tannins were balanced. The black fruits were soft and elegant and fragrant. Earth and spice was integrated well tuner. Superb and absolutely enjoyable.

Needless to say, we slayed some dragons tonight. Let the birthday week continue!

In an effort to wow everyone, and mission accomplished,
@Mark Flesher brought this beaut out. Needed a good decant, and while it didn't necessarily improve dramatically, it was still alive. I didn't get any fruits on this...heavily dominant of coffee/espresso and cocoa. Decent amount of brown in the color. Clove and mint came through faintly at the end. What a treat!

This cooler vintage back then resulted in a perfectly shaped wine now.

The cork was totally saturated when I pulled it, and basically disintegrated. It poured a rusty red/brown color. It smells like an old, wet basement. Dirt, mushroom, and wet wood. On the palate it still has some acid and black fruit. I wish I had a second bottle to compare it to. I also wish I had decanted because it definitely improved over the course an hour, which was surprising for a 35 year old bottle.

Soft on the palate and not as bold as I would have thought for this age Cab. Smooth and easily drinkable.

Big, elegant nose -- violets over blueberries with a menthol backbone. Soft mouthfeel; the tannins have long since melted and it's definitely time to drink. Lamb really brings out the sweetness and there was zero throw left in the bottle -- I think that this was just a stellar bottle, as the one I drank a few years ago indicated that this was on its way out. Classic Napa cab.
