Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Robert Mondavi established his namesake winery in 1966 with a vision to create Napa Valley wines that would stand in the company of the world's finest. A blend of 92% Sauvignon Blanc & 8% Semillon (I always like when a little Semillon is added). The “Fume” style was created by Robert Mondavi many years ago. Complex aromas, fresh citrus with enticing herbal notes. Orange and citrus flavors adding grapefruit and lemon tones, great acidity balance, rich and smooth, medium finish ending with grassy mineral character. Great value. Tasting Sample.

Pale lemon in color with a green hue.

On the nose green apples, herbs, grapefruits, gooseberry and white pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity, crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, green vegetables and white pepper.

Medium plus in finish with bitter almonds.

This is a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, California. Simple and balanced. Very similar in style to a new Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Enjoyable by itself or with food, like seafood. Good for parties or as a sipping wine by the porch or pool.

Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.

I enjoyed it with a shrimp cocktail appetizer.

14.5% alcohol by volume. (watch out... )

Light straw in color with a faint golden hue.

Strong nose of freshly squeezed lemons, grapefruits, green apples, light gooseberry, white pepper, minerals, herbs and lemongrass.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity, crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with lemons, grapefruits, citrus, sea salt, white pepper, grass, herbs, green vegetables and green apples.

Medium finish with bitter almonds.

This Napa Sauvignon Blanc is nice and refreshing. Well balanced with mild complexity. An above-average Sauvignon Blanc, but a little bitter on the ending for my taste. Very little gooseberry on the nose, which surprised me.

I paired it with a dish of spicy shrimp pad Thai.

Clean and very dry. Light aroma. A bright acid taste is follow by something just a little off. Apricot pit slightly spoiled flavor.

A historic Wine, so I had to try it. Grilled lemon and herbs on the nose. Lemon, grass and grapefruit on the pallet with that hint of smoke. Lots of acidity and creamy mouthfeel.
