Love this CF. Spring mountain combo of earth, forest, and rustic fruit with plenty of elevation concentration that never passes being overbearing. Leathery and herbal with delicious liveliness to it.

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed, this wine lacks the pyrazinic stuffing i like about cab franc. Not getting any bell pepper, leather, peppercorn or anything like that. This is too ripe and just flashed up. Its hot, bottle says 14.3 but I'm not buying it. I usually enjoy Venges work but this doesn't punch in the 60$+ weight class. Pretty one dimensional cherry red fruit, spicy oak dominates the nose and finish. Decanted and waited, i was hoping some of the heat would blow off and some fruit complexity would come out it didn't happen. Not stoked about what i spent at all.

Sugared plums, baking spice, red fruit. Perhaps a bit of R/S. M- acid, m body, m/m+ tannin. Black fruit on the palate. Long finish.

Smoke dominates from the start. Dates, figs and licorice follow with hints of raspberry and apple as the acidity builds. Smooth and elegant finish.
