Inviting perfume, warm plum and black cherry, graham cracker, sweet spice, pepper and a touch of herbs. Tannins and acidity are detailed, just enough flesh, tastes like west side St Helena for sure.

Nose has incredibly aromatic blackberry/raspberry preserves, cherry liqueur, toasted anise seed, charred cedar, blackberry compote and faint wet peaty soil.

Palate has cherry jam, fig paste, old licorice candy, ripe black cherry, blueberry jam and grape Jolly Rancher candy. Fine tannins, but expect several years of life left here. In a fantastic spot this evening.

Decanted 5H at time of notes, continuing to evolve. 🥳 Enjoy 2024-28, from proper storage.

Paired with our Superbowl Sunday traditional feast, pulled pork. This year were going local (as always) with both pork shoulder and ham hocks from our bi-annual purchase of one-half piggy from Highland Farm (Old Chatham, NY); love your farmers! Shoulder was dry rubbed and rested, then into the slow cooker for 9H, talk about falling apart!

Pork shoulder and hocks for two...I pretty much know what my lunch is going to be for about the next two weeks. 😋

Go Bengals! 🐅

Nose has ripe blackberry, fresh black cherry, cherry jam, mashed cherries, toasted anise seed, sweet smokey cedar, cherry liqueur. Rich and beautiful.

Palate has bright black cherry, old milk chocolate, cherry jam reduction, ripe fig, dried fig, black currant jam, moist garden soil, licorice and grape Jolly Rancher candy. Rich palate with mild tannins and long finish. This wine is in an outstanding spot with years ahead of it still, enjoy 2024-26, in proper storage. Decanted 6H.

Paired with pulled pork sandwiches, a Superbowl Sunday tradition for us. A local pork shoulder (Mill River Farm, New Marlborough, MA), dry spice rubbed and rested for 24H, then 10H in the slow cooker; it's just falling apart...so beautiful, our kitchen smells amazing! Garnished with our garden bread & butter pickles, homemade barbeque sauce, pickled red onion and a dash of cilantro, all a worthy combination.

Fresh, vibrant and spicy. Can hold for a few years, but drinking very well right now.

Fun thanksgiving Zinfandel. Great to pair with all those foods! Not too much spice and definitely a nice layer of smoke on this vintage.
