Decanted and showing very well. Significant tertiary aroma. Powerful and full tannic structure.

It has been about 4.5+ years since I last rated one of these (I think it is my last one of a half case). For a Villages 20+ years old, it was a delicious wine. Unlike in June 2015, this wine was pretty much singing from the open (last time it needed 30-45 minutes to open up). Enjoyed it with a sous vide pork chop (finished on a cast iron skillet) with garlic and shallots, plus a cous cous. Solid meal and wine for COCID-19 self quarantine and social distancing.

Free tasting with Meaursult 2/28/20. Beautiful amber color of mature Burg. What a nice nose of forest floor mushrooms and dried flowers. Slowly evolving for minutes before even tasting. Firm acidic lively balanced texture with a bit of bite going into long waxing and waning finish. Very fresh tasting. and

Stunning!!! Wow, gorgeous for being 20 yrs old and still has many more years of life ahead of it.
Pnp and let slow ox, after 30 min or so the aromas really started to sing and this is drinking like a wine a fraction of its age.
Celebrating finalizing the split between DuPont and Corteva as today was the last day we are sharing the same the office building.

1999 Robert Ampeau et Fils Pommard (village). Nice smokiness and earth typical of Pommards more to the Beaune side. Flavor profile much better after some air and even better the next day.
