Roagna's Le Coste Barolo 2007 offers poise and finesse, and superb value given the quality of this producer's wines. Opens with inviting aromas of spiced cherries, strawberries roasted in balsamic, roses, mint, and anise. Translucent towards the outer edges with an orange tinted rim, it's nicely structured with fine, supple tannins, medium acidity, and a touch of earth, cedar and gaminess on the back palate. This pure expression of Nebbiolo is grown in sandy, calcareous soils and sees extended maceration.

Bouche mûre suave avec un déséquilibre sur l alcool et l ultra maturité. Ceci disparaît complètement apres 24 h d ouverture. Le vin devient fin précis et délicat

Jul 9th, 2017Initially animal and a tiny bit blue cheese on the nose, but opening up to menthol and strawberries and cherries. Great acid structure, tannins, spicy, juicy. I'd like a bit more earth, but good.
