Rivers-Marie
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
These are entering their drinking window, still huge on the fruit and tannins softening ever so slightly. The ‘14s to me are still a little more accessible at this stage.

Apr 28th, 2018Still firm in it’s tannic structure, but everything is starting to integrate. Dark fruited with still a hint of vanilla and finishing with moderate tannic grip. Should hit peak in a couple more years.

Jan 14th, 2018These are settling down. Tight and tannic a couple years ago, but have now started to soften. A 2hr decant and this was classic Rivers Marie cab and drinking more like the rounder ‘12s.

1 person found it helpfulDec 20th, 2015This Napa cabernet benefitted from multiple hours of air. Red and purple fruits on the nose and palate. Blackberries, black currants and cherries 🍒. There is a touch of dried fruit and chocolate 🍫 . Some sweetness. Moderate complexity.
Drying tannins, spiciness and oak carry the moderate length finish.
Still drinking well but I liked this better when it was a little younger

Surprisingly this is drinking really well for a 2013. Deep purple. Nice body and structure. No visible signs of oak. Seems well integrated already.
