River Road Vineyards
Sonoma County Chardonnay
Star bright straw gold. Shy nose of yellow apple and spice. Full bodied palate echoes the nose with added oak and medium plus acidity. Very well balanced with fruit and oak and acidity all present and playing their roles without overwhelming the others. Priced like a sipper; drinks like a table wine. Enjoy with most classic white wine foods (fish, poultry, pork, etc.).

1 person found it helpfulApr 14th, 2018A nice, full bodied oaky wine with notes of pear and vanilla. Sonoma County, California River Road Family Vineyards. Winemaker Ed Morris. I enjoyed sipping this wine with family, sitting on the deck. I can imagine this wine paired with a clam and butter sauce over pasta. Really nice wine.

May 13th, 2021Honey-hued. Aromas and flavors of baking spice, grapefruit, mango, melon, minerals, passionfruit, pear, and tangerine. Medium body and medium-high acidity. Flavorful on the palate and a crisp, elegant finish with a slight hint of vanilla and lemon zest. Excellent example of a lightly oaked California chardonnay.

Dec 5th, 2019Oak overwhelms most of the flavor with some tart fruit poking through. Light acid in the finish.

Nice color of bubbly gold. Nose of vivid flowering note, quality green apple, honey, and hint of spice. Nose is simple with big elements. Taste of similar notes like nose. Once again nice sweet honey and flowering note that is perfect for the hot summer, green apple, zesty citrus and citrus peel, the spice and hotness is hidden well and comes very late. Aftertaste is medium long with nice citrus flavor on the tongue. She is definitely a good one to go day after day in summer.
