Extraordinarily pronounced new American oak on the nose, but the palate of far more subtle. Oak quickly dissipates to show mulling spices, leather, rubber, peppercorn, soil, orange-crusted clove....I could go on forever. This is a fascinating wine. So glad I have 2 more bottles.

Actually this is 100% Petite Sirah from the Dry Creek Valley AVA in Sonoma County. Purple colour. Intense nose with black fruits, oak and an unattractive medicinal touch. Powerful, very spicy, fruit overwhelmed by tannic structure and very astringent finish. This seems overextracted and overoaked. Not to mention overpriced.Very disappointing. Can't drink this. 2014 vintage. abv. 13,9%. 38 euro.

Pronounced oak throughout along with a nose of blueberry, black currant, and blackberry. On the palate, the theme continues, but lots of tannin here. Dried orange slices and allspice. Leather. All very concentrated.

Great wine. Fun flavors, great finish, and high alcohol.

Extremely dry! Recommend decanting for a bit.

Intense dark, caressing fruit on the nose and palate. Not usually my style of wine, but no trace of overripeness or heat. Some tannins and slightly intrusive oak that need time to integrate, but surprisingly appealing for someone whose palate leans rather far towards the Old World.
