Ridge Vineyards
East Bench Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, California, USA
Excellent Zin with a lot of fruits; blackberries, cranberries and some dark cherries. Also, spice, cedar and more. Did not know what to expect as Zin’s don’t go for a lot of aging. Happy I found this one in my cellar and have a couple of other Ridge wines I need to drink up.
I stopped purchasing Ridge years ago as I got into lighter wines. Visited Ridge Winery last century and had an excellent tasting as I remember and met and chatted with Paul Draper.

Still a little tannic but a super nice long finish. Hints of white pepper, smoke and a touch of spice. Bouquet is more fruit but very nice. I'll be getting more if I can find it.

Jun 2nd, 2013Intense fruit in this Old School blend of Zin, Carignane and Petite Sirah. Sweet, luscious deep black fruit, bright and lively. Going to be great with my dry rubbed ribs.
