Saw this “Appassimento-Style” Barbera on the wine list and had to try it. Medium ruby color. Aromas and flavors of cooked blackberries, violets, black figs and nuts. Touch of vanilla on the finish. Quite full bodied and bold. Hint of RS on the long finish. Extremely fruit forward but also somewhat interesting.

Sep 30th, 2023Pale to medium ruby in color; cherries, raspberries, smoke and graphite on the nose; medium plus acidity; high tannins; tastes like licorice, black cherries, and blackberry jam with a long, sweet finish. Even better after a little aeration. It has intense flavors that may not be for everyone, but I'm enjoying it.
