After being a bit underwhelmed by the Home I figured it would be worth taking a look at how the 2006 Alpines are doing right now. This one is in a much happier state and may be now proving itself as the more serious wine. It is still holding on to plenty of its tannic structure but isn't closed down at all. It starts out with a red-fruited personality with some blacker fruit and sapid flavors clenching inwards, and over time turns deeper and deeper in tone until the fruit is all blackberry.
