Amazing structure and nice red fruit integration. I decanted the bottle but should have done sooner. These wines are meant to age and they need to open up to show full potential.

Rich cherry cola, rich and sophisticated dark fruits, black raspberry, well defined tannin structure. Will definitely benefit from time in bottle.

Absolutely stunning against a normal crowd, but not as brilliant as I would expect were it from Rhys Santa Cruz.

At dinner, so notes will be sparing. This is crazy good, and rapidly gets better with minutes of air. I see what the Rhys fuss is about.

Darker than I remember, this really evolved in the glass. Fantastic complexity. Long wavering finish. Plenty of acid and bitterness. Perhaps it will be even better with more time.

Fairly closed right now - I wouldn’t open it. Took a few hours of air to open up and start to reveal juicy dark cherry fruit

So good! This is about balance and elegance, unlike most Cali pinots. The fruit is on the darker side, beautiful, not overpowering. Tons of herbs and forest floor in the finish.

Yeah, I am a fan of Rhys. So much forest floor, and a ton of complexity. Tried over 3 days and different each day. Fruit is beautiful but muted (a good thing, imo, some California pinots can be too much)

More elegant than the 2012 or 2013, but with the trademark spice and plummy fruit. Really lovely.
