My fellow tasting companion suggested a resemblance to Pommard and I can see that.
We also tasted 2013 barrel-samples of various clones/components - oh boy!...Mailing List members are in for a treat there!

Reuling Vineyard 2012 pinot noir.
Following one of the most perfect growing seasons we’ve ever seen, the grapes were harvested on September 27, 2012.

On the nose, subtle aromas of lavender oil, hibiscus, marionberry, chinese 5 spice, and rose petals.

Now definitely more inclined to believe the CT 93+ ratings and the Delectable 94's. This is a very nice pinot. Nose of underripe black cherry. Sweet. I will dare say this has a Marcassin nose. Sweeter fruit on the front. Quite delicious. Black cherry and herb. Finishes strong. Still has plenty of life left. Never would have guessed this was a 2012.

Like drinking a vanilla cherry coke that was left on the table overnight without a cap. There’s a side of cupcake in there too. Too much fruit for me...

Pop and let sit for 90 mins in the bottle. A little aggressive. Maybe a decant would have helped for this young wine. Nose was a bit closed but spices are present -- pepper, currant, and even a little cinnamon. Fairly hot on the palate and the coffee and chocolate are very present. In my humble opinion this needs more time in the bottle.

Update: 3+ hrs after opening and the final glass is just singing. So much promise for my other bottles.

Nicely balanced. Earthy (evergreen?) nose. Great drinking wine.
