Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose of black currants, cherries, sweet strawberries, light oak, chocolates, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, chocolates, coffee, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, oak, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This is a nice surprise. This 7 year old Tempranillo from Spain is drinking very nicely now.
Nicely balanced and tangy, with a nice mouthfeel. Fruit forward and enjoyable by itself or with food.
This 100% Tempranillo is good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes), and shows some tannins. Becomes very tangy on the mid palate, after 2 hours in the decanter.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of cheeses and light appetizers.
14% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Oct 8th, 201912 years of age have rounded things out in this wine. No longer rough around the ages. It feels balanced and interesting while displaying aged Ribera qualities of red and dark cherries dipped in brandy, likely from the oak, with a mineral component more prominent in the palate. Wish i had another bottle.
