Tawny color with lighter rims. Earthy nose. Notes of gravel rock, black cherries, some menthol and white pepper. Rich and round in the mouth. Medium bodied and nice lasting finish. With air some incremental notes of bacon fat and maraschino cherries develop. Don’t think this can get much better with more age. Drink now and over next few years.

1995 vintage. Meaty, earthy, liquorice, nettles and bracken. Medicinal notes. On the palate, much more white pepper. Quite plush blackberry and black plum. Very silky and textured. Good concentration. Fresh acidity. Good finish. Very enjoyable. Unfortunately in great company tonight.
